Triberg Falls (40 km)
Germanys highest waterfalls. The river Gutach cascades down in seven naturally created steps, plummeting almost 600 feet. Three interesting hiking and walking trails are clearly marked around the thunderous Gutach. Signs offer interesting information about Triberg and the waterfalls. By the way, in Triberg youll find numerous clockmakers offering black forest cuckoo clocks.
Schaffhausen (CH): Rhine falls (39 km)
The Rhine Falls the biggest waterfalls in Europe offer a grandiose spectacle for visitors. At medium water levels of the Rhine, 700 cubic meters of water per second plummet down 23 meters over the rocks along a width of 150 meters. You can feel the full force of this volume of water from the basin of the Rhine Falls.
Hegau: Hohentwiel (34 km)
The Hegau Mountains former volcanoes crowned by many romantic ruins are the most famous destination for outings and day trips. No other place in Germany has as many fortifications as Hegau. This is the reason it is also called the "Burgenland west of Lake Constance". These hill-perched ruins provide living history lessons and unequalled views as far as the Alps. Meersburg (52 km)
